The Toronto Eye Surgery Centre is the leading provider of cataract surgery services in Toronto.
Providing surgical services to correct both cataracts and presbyopia in a friendly, professional atmosphere, we take our commitment to outstanding patient outcomes seriously.
Our highly qualified and experienced surgical staff are strong believers in assessing each and every patient on their merits, and determining the correct procedure to provide the best surgical outcomes for your particular needs.
Some of the eye problems that we provide surgical services to address include:
Hyperopia (Far Sightedness): A condition where the light enterning the eye focuses behind the retina, rather than actually on the retina itself. Hyperopia sufferers will notice that their ability to focus on distant objects is good (although not always), but they have trouble focusing on close objects.
Myopia (Near Sightedness): In contrast to hyperopia, those who suffer from myopia have the light focus in front of the retina. People with myopia find that their close up vision is generally godd, while they have trouble focusing on distant objects.
Astigmatism: Astigmatism is a condition where rather than being a perfect spherical shape, the cornea is in the shape of a football. This causes light to focus on one point in the eye, which results in blurred vision. Those with astigmatism will often find that they also suffer from hyperopia (far sightedness) or myopia (near sightedness)
Presbyopia: Presbyopia is a condition where the eye is unable to adjust the focusing distance. The lens becomes less flexible, meaning that it cannot thicken when required for close up focus.
Over half of all Canadians over the age of 60 suffer some kind of vision deterioration due to cataracts, but this is not a problem that only occurs in those of advanced years.
If blurred vision is causing you problems, if you're tired of being unable to focus on objects, either near or far, of if you suffer from eye strain, fatigue, or headaches, the cataract surgeons at the Toronto Eye Surgery Centre can help!
All of our doctors are experienced Ophthalmological Specialists, and are committed to providing professional advice in a friendly atmosphere, leading to outstanding surgical outcomes.
